At South East Region’s Learning Centres, we intentionally align Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs with education to holistically support our students, families, and extended community. We are committed to engaging young people and strengthening relationships, ensuring that students’ foundational needs—physiological wellbeing, safety, and a sense of belonging—are met as a priority for learning to occur. Each campus is supported by a dedicated Head of Campus, Dean of Students, Guidance Officer, Social Worker, and Youth Support Coordinator. Together, these roles provide comprehensive support for attendance, student wellbeing, engagement, and Career Education, ensuring every student has access to the guidance, care, and advocacy they need to succeed.
If students require additional services, the school works closely with Region Support Staff to access a range of specialist supports, including speech and language therapy, nursing services, and other allied health supports. We endeavour to connect students with the appropriate services in a timely and coordinated manner, ensuring individual needs are met and barriers to learning are reduced.
South East Region’s Learning Centres also provide a Community Pantry that is accessible to all school families operating out of our Eagleby Headquarters. The pantry offers meal packs to support households experiencing food insecurity and operates in conjunction with Warm Hearts Warm Bellies, strengthening our commitment to care for our school community beyond the classroom.
