 Policy for Late Submission and Non-submission of Assessment Instruments in Authority and Authority-registered Subjects

 Late Submission of Assessment

In the case of late submission of assessment instruments, judgment will be based on evidence available on or before the due date.

Extensions may be granted on medical grounds by the Teacher when supported by a medical certificate.

Any other extenuating circumstances require approval of the Administration of the College and may require additional supporting documentation. Application for extensions based on extenuating circumstances must be made in writing, prior to the due date of assessment.

Students have until the last day of each Term to submit all assessment unless given specific date by Deputy Principal.

 Non-submission of Assessment

In the case of non-submission of student responses to assessment instruments, standards will not be awarded when there is no evidence.

Overall judgment of student achievement will be made by matching a body of evidence provided by students’ responses to assessment instruments to the standards descriptors outlined in the relevant syllabus.

Continued non-submission will result in a Not Rate for the Semester.

Students have until the last day of each Term to submit all assessment unless given specific date by Deputy Principal.

Continuance Week

ELC structures our program so the curriculum and assessment is finalised a week prior to the end of Term. This allows our teachers to address the students who have not met the assessment policy throughout the Term for circumstances such as;

Non-attendance

Non-submission

Illness

Requiring extra assistance

Continuance week offers these students with every opportunity to successfully complete their program by receiving extra contact time in the final week of each term with the class teacher, in a small group environment.  Those students who have successfully completed all course requirements for the Term have non-contact time during Continuance Week.
